About BCL
Celebrating 19 years of Boys Christmas Lunch
In the heart of 2008, a remarkable tradition was born among a close-knit group of friends. It was a time when life was bustling with university lectures, late-night study sessions, and youthful exuberance. The idea of sitting down for a civilised Christmas lunch seemed far from the norm, but it was precisely this unconventional spirit that gave birth to what we know today as "Boys Christmas Lunch", or BCL.
Founded by a group of friends with a shared desire for camaraderie and an unwavering bond, BCL started as a humble Christmas gathering. What began with just six members has now blossomed into a close-knit brotherhood of 22 friends, each with their unique stories and memories.
In 2026, BCL proudly celebrates its 19th consecutive year, a testament to the enduring strength of their connections. BCL isn't just a lunch or a gathering; it's a reminder of why these friends became brothers. It's about laughter that never fades, stories that continue to be shared, and the simple joy of being together for one weekend each year.
Since 2021, we've also used BCL to give back, raising R168 550 for causes close to our hearts.
